Red Wings Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Coach Mike Babcock called out his players, to some extent, after Monday's morning skate, claiming their work ethic hasn't been strong lately.
"Who's the hardest-working team in the National Hockey League? Well, in the past I've been able to say without any question, I think (we are)," Babcock said. "I don't think that's the case right now."
The Wings haven't been as strong defensively or in goal as they need to be, but Babcock also hasn't been pleased with their attention to details. They've committed too many turnovers and haven't blocked enough shots lately.
The Wings responded to the challenge from their coach by turning in a workmanlike effort in a 2-1 victory over Anaheim. |
