Crosby gains on Montreal trio in all-star voting (AP)
Pittsburgh Penguins start Sidney Crosby is closing on a trio of Montreal Canadiens in voting for the NHL all-star game. Montreal players lead all six starting spots on the Eastern Conference team as of Tuesday, and Crosby is within 65,000 votes of third-place forward Alex Tanguay (385,297). Alex Kovalev (393,303) and Saku Koivu (390,026) lead the voting for the position. |

Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are considered superstars. Saturday night, they lived up to their reputation.
There was one play in particular that highlighted the skill and will of these two young stars. While Crosby garnered most of the attention with his hat trick, his second goal would not have been possible without a hustle play by Malkin.
Malkin was checked into the boards by Devils forward Zach Parise and fell to the ice. Malkin got up, won the race to the puck and set up Crosby's goal, which gave the Penguins a 3-0 lead midway through the second period.

The Buffalo Sabres beat the Pittsburgh Penguins at their own game. Paul Gaustad broke a tie with his second goal, and Drew Stafford had two goals and an assist in the Sabres' 4-3 comeback victory over Pittsburgh on Friday night. The Penguins had won seven of the 11 times they've trailed after two periods this season, and were tied for the NHL lead in third-period goals coming in.

Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby made the Nassau Coliseum their personal playground in the Pittsburgh Penguins' rousing third-period rally. For the second time in less than three weeks on Long Island, the Penguins wiped out a two-goal lead in the third period and throttled the Islanders. Sedins, Demitra lift Canucks past Penguins 3-1 (AP)

An injury to Roberto Luongo put a chill into the Vancouver Canucks' hot streak. The two-time Vezina Trophy finalist hurt his groin less than five minutes into Vancouver's game against Pittsburgh on Saturday, but Pavol Demitra scored twice and Daniel and Henrik Sedin had three points each in the Canucks' 3-1 win over the Penguins.
